• $\left( x_1,x_2 \right)≻\left( y_1,y_2 \right)$ : the consumer strictly prefer s the first bundle to the second
• $\left( x_1,x_2 \right)≺\left( y_1,y_2 \right)$ : the consumer strictly prefer s the second bundle to the first
• $\left( x_1,x_2 \right)∼\left( y_1,y_2 \right)$ : the consumer is indifferent between the bundles
• $\left( x_1,x_2 \right)≽\left( y_1,y_2 \right)$ : the consumer weakly prefer s the first bundle to the second
